Extension to the Czech subsidiary’s buildings

Murtfeldt Plasty is growing: nsion to the Czech subsidiary’s buildings

The plans have been approved and the expected year-long extension to the Czech subsidiary Murtfeldt Plasty is about to start. The extension to the administration building is planned as well as the construction of a further production hall.

In 2008, Murtfeldt Plasty celebrated the inauguration of its new building close to Prague with its 25 employees and a host of invited guests. Ten years later, the positive growth of the Czech subsidiary of Murtfeldt Kunststoffe is nearing its spatial and machine limits.

The 1,800 m² production area and 500 m² administration offices and staff rooms built back then are no longer big enough for the 60 or more employees to cope with the possible and necessary growth of the market in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

A plot of land purchased back then is now fortunately available for the extension to the company’s premises. Two construction phases are planned: Firstly, a new 2,300 m² production hall will be built followed by the extension to the administration building. Apart from the creation of additional offices for Sales and Administration, the extension will include areas earmarked as staff rooms for production employees and office space for Operations Management and Production Planning.

The aim is for the company’s expanded production capacity to supply Murtfeldt products to other Eastern European countries as well as its existing Czech and Slovakian markets.

About Murtfeldt Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG

During the 1950s, Murtfeldt was already developing its Original Material “S”, a plastic whose slide properties and wear resistance properties are still unbeaten today. Since then, the Dortmund-based company has been shaped by imaginative developments, including the construction of customer components and the production of the requisite CAD data. Today, Murtfeldt is one of the leading producers of guide systems and slide-enabling, wear-resistant plastics worldwide. Murtfeldt products are used wherever products are to be packaged, filled and transported. Murtfeldt has a broad production, sales, and service network with almost 400 employees in Dortmund and subsidiaries in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, field employees who provide customers with on-site consultation and further partners in almost every European country. Comprehensive and competent consultation, above all, is at the forefront of every single business relationship. With its in-house Application Technology department, Murtfeldt therefore has a highly qualified consulting team, primarily made up of machine construction engineers.
