Improved performance of the Plastics Guide app 2.1

supports professional material selection for drive technology

The Hannover Messe starts on 13 April. Murtfeldt Kunststoffe will be making use of this international platform for drive technology to present the latest version of the “Murtfeldt Plastics Guide”, updated just in time for the Hannover Messe, in Hall 24, Stand D16. The impressive thing about this free app, which has been available for well over a year, is the fast, interactive help it provides in selecting technical plastics for industrial applications.

Version 2.1 of the “Murtfeldt Plastics Guide” is now also available in additional languages – as well as German and English, users can now be guided through the menu in Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Czech and Russian. Both the “Selection Wizard” and the chemical resistance check have been fully revised and are now even more intuitive with even better performance.

With the help of this app, design engineers and technicians searching for materials are guided through the increasing complexity of the world of technical plastics. Using summary lists, pages of technical details, a keyword search and the chemical resistance check mentioned above, users can quickly get a picture of which materials are suitable for their application. In the process, the most important criteria for the use of the plastic, such as usage temperature, coefficient of sliding friction, wear resistance, expansion coefficient and food compliance, are filtered and correlated with one another.

Murtfeldt also makes use of this in-depth specialist knowledge of technical plastics in the production of its own products. Whether standardised – in the form of tensioning systems or chain and belt guides – or individually tailored to the requirements of the customer, in the form of slide bars or expertly milled components, Murtfeldt is always able to provide an appropriate solution that can be integrated smartly into newly designed or existing machinery and plants in drive technology. The overriding principle here is to ensure a cost-efficient life-cycle management.

The properties of the Murtfeldt plastics make a significant contribution in this respect: exceptional sliding ability – which significantly reduces the energy required for the desired drive power, high abrasion resistance and excellent chemical resistance place these plastics a step ahead of comparable materials. They guarantee machinery and plants a long lifetime and high energy efficiency along with low maintenance and servicing efforts, thus enabling companies to achieve sustainable growth.
